Transcriptions
An assortment of previously unpublished Emily music, both practice exercises and full songs for solo guitar mostly from her lesson videos:
Jazz and Latin Improvisation and Bebop and Swing Guitar.
Meticulously transcribed by yours truly but have no illusions I am merely a layman working under the seasoned architectural guidance of Mr. John Horne.
Don’t forget to check out transcriptions of songs and solos from others on GUEST TRANSCRIPTIONS page.

for solo guitar exists than the one Emily offers us here.
I would think if Jobim ever heard her version he would have exclaimed,
“Ah, now that’s how it should be played, magnifico!”
(LeadSheet version available on Guest Transcriptions page)
And for the record, officially this song is titled: The Red Blouse.
You can find the original song in iTunes Music Store.

No singer required, let your fingers be the melody.

This is the song Emily learned so she could go down to Manny’s Guitar store and impress listeners by playing both elements of a song, the rhythm and lead. It’s a great version for students but begs to be longer. A wonderful opportunity to explore your own ideas.

This song really moves. A nice piece to find a partner and trade off working on rhythm and lead.

If you downloaded previous versions of AfroBlue, please update your copy, as numerous errors were corrected. The newest download also includes a diagram chart to help with fingering and naming issues of obscure chords. Of note: the intro was added from the studio album Take Two and was not included in the live recording.
