   I 1st met dear Em in 1985 in NYC. انا الاولى اجتمع ايها طب الطوارئ في عام 1985 في مدينة نيويورك. What a gorgeous vibe she had. رائع ما قالت انها vibe. I was booked for a tour in January of 1986 w/ Joe Farrell and unfortunately he passed away before the start date…yet, fortunately Emily took his place and we becam fast friends on the road over the next years until she sadly left. كنت حجزها لجولة في كانون الثاني / يناير من عام 1986 ث / جو فاريل ومما يؤسف له أنه توفي قبل بدء التاريخ… ولكن ، لحسن الحظ اميلي اتخذ مكانه ونحن اصدقاء becam بسرعة على الطريق على مدى السنوات التالية ، حتى انها تركت للأسف. I miss her to this day and often listen to the many recordings we did on tour, both shows and rehearsals. انا نفتقدها حتى يومنا هذا في كثير من الاحيان والاستماع الى العديد من التسجيلات على جولة فعلنا ، على حد سواء ويظهر تدريبات. We toured in many formats - duo,trio,quartet and she shined through all of them. نحن جال في العديد من الاشكال -- الثنائي ، والثلاثي ، واعربت المجموعة الرباعيه عن طريق تألق لهم جميعا. I wish I could have one more minute of time with Em. اتمنى ان يكون لحظة واحدة اكثر من مرة مع طب الطوارئ. I talked to her the day before she left Australia and she was looking forward to finding help for her problem when she returned. لقد تحدثت الى بلدها فى اليوم قبل مغادرتها استراليا وقالت انها تتطلع الى مساعدة لايجاد مشكلتها عندما عادت. So very sad. حتى حزينة جدا.

   Emily came to New Mexico booked by the New Mexico Jazz Workshop for a gig in Albuquerque. ايميلي الجديد جاء لحجزها من قبل المكسيك ونيو مكسيكو ورشة عمل لموسيقى الجاز حفلة في البوكيرك. She opened for Michael Brecker at the University of New Mexico Popejoy Hall. واعربت عن فتح باب مايكل brecker في جامعة نيو مكسيكو popejoy القاعه. The trio was of course Emily on guitar and Jon Gagan on bass and I played drums. الثلاثي هو بطبيعة الحال وقيثارة اميلي على جون gagan على البص ولعبت براميل. I had an amazing experience playing jazz with her. كان لي تجربة مذهله جاز اللعب معها. We hung out after at a hotel called La Posada in downtown Albuquerque where the Brecker band was staying. ونحن بعد ان علقت في احد فنادق مدينة لوس انجلوس دعا بوسادا فى وسط البوكيرك حيث كانت الفرقة brecker البقاء فيها.

   One thing I remember about the gig at Popejoy was - before the performance, Emily and I played in her dressing room. أتذكر شيئا واحدا عن الحفله كانت في popejoy -- قبل الاداء ، واميلي لعبت في بلدها تضميد الغرفة. I was playing brushes on a newspaper and Emily was playing unplugged. الاول كان يلعب على فرش احدى الصحف وكان اللعب اميلي منزوع القابس. That was a special event for me. إن كان حدثا مميزا بالنسبة لي. She was a very warm and kind person that loved to play jazz. وقالت انها الحار جدا ونوع الشخص الذي احب القيام به الجاز.

   Emily was brought back to New Mexico; this time to open for Etta James at a venue in the mountains outside of Santa Fe called the Evergreens. وقد وجه اميلي العودة الى نيو مكسيكو ؛ هذه المرة الى فتح باب جيمس الادارة الانتقالية لتيمور الشرقية في مكان فى الجبال خارج سانتافي يسمى evergreens. Emily used the same trio. اميلي استخدم نفس الثلاثي. We also played a club in Santa Fe called El Farol the night before. ونحن أيضا لعبت في نادي سانتا في farol el دعا الليلة قبل.
   The musical experience and the hang time were both memorable and inspiring. التجربه الموسيقيه وتعليق بعض الوقت على حد سواء لا تنسى والملهم. She had some musical genius and I enjoyed partaking. وقالت انها عبقريه بعض الموسيقى التي استمتعت بها والمشاركة.

   I was jamming away on my Fender Twin turned all the way up, at the time I was a beginning player, all I knew how to do was play some rock tunes and jam along on the guitar using the minor pentatonic scale. كنت بعيدا عن التشويش بلادي تحول الحاجز المزدوج على طول الطريق حتى ، في ذلك الوقت كنت لاعب بداية ، كل كنت اعرف كيفية القيام كان يقوم به بعض الصخرة وألحان المربي على طول قيثارة باستخدام القاصر pentatonic واسع. Anyways, during a pause in the sonic chaos I was inflicting on the neighborhood, I heard this polite knock on the door. على اي حال ، خلال وقفة حاسمة في سونيك كنت الفوضى التي تلحق الحي ، سمعت هذا مؤدب طرق الباب. I opened it, and there was this stunningly beautiful young woman standing there. فتحت ، وهذا كان هناك امرأة شابة جميلة بشكل مذهل الداءمه هناك. She introduced herself; “Hi there I am Emily Remler, I am a jazz guitarist, and I was walking by and I heard you playing, and I was wondering if you would like some lessons”. وعرضت نفسها ؛ "مرحبا هناك remler اميلي أنا ، وأنا الجاز عازف القيثاره ، وانا كان يسير في طريق وسمعت أنك اللعب ، وكنت اتساءل اذا كنت ترغب في بعض الدروس المستفاده". At the time I was 35 years old and she was about 18, so I thought what can this little girl show me. في ذلك الوقت كنت 35 عاما وكانت نحو 18 ، وذلك وأعتقد هذا ما يمكن ان تبين لي طفلة صغيرة. So I handed her my guitar and she played on it, asked me to turn down the amp and make it sound clean, and she proceeded to blow my mind. حتى سلمت بلادي قيثارة لها وقالت انها على أنها لعب ، وطلب مني ان رفض امبير وجعلها سليمة نظيفة ، وأنها شرعت ضربة ذهني. I took one hour on the spot. اخذت ساعة واحدة على الفور. At the time I lived on Long Beach Island New Jersey. في ذلك الوقت كنت أعيش على جزيرة لونغ بيتش ولاية نيو جيرسي. She vacationed there every summer for a few years and every year she came she would come by and give me lessons. وقالت انها كل صيف قضى اجازة هناك لبضع سنوات كل سنة وانها جاءت وقالت انها تأتي من جانب واجعل لي الدروس.

   Sadly, many years later I heard about her death while at a flea market in St Augustine Florida where there was a man trying out the same guitar she played in my house that first time, which was for sale that day. وللاسف ، بعد عدة سنوات سمعت عن وفاتها في حين ان سوق البرغوث في القديس أوغسطين فلوريدا حيث كان هناك رجل يحاول بها نفسها على الجيتار وقالت انها لعبة في بيتي ان المرة الأولى ، التي كان للبيع في ذلك اليوم. He is the one who told me about her death. وقال انه هو من قال لي أحد عن وفاتها. I was shocked and saddened by it. كنت بالصدمة والحزن به.

   She is the one who gave me some of the musical ideas which I still use to this day, as I have never perused a musical education. وقالت انها هي واحدة من قدم لي بعض الافكار الموسيقيه التي لا تزال تستخدم حتى يومنا هذا ، وكما قلت ابدا مطالع موسيقيه التعليم.

   I was visiting my daughter in Halifax, Nova Scotia, & saw in the newspaper that she & Larry Coryell were giving a concert at the Rebeccah Cohen Auditorium. الأول كان في زيارة ابنتي في هاليفاكس ، نوفا سكوتيا ، & شهد في الصحيفة التي قالت انها لاري & coryell تم اعطاء حفلة موسيقيه في قاعة rebeccah كوهين. When I went there to buy tickets, I noticed that the sign in lights said LARRY CORYELL but no mention of Emily. عندما ذهبت الى هناك لشراء تذاكر ، لاحظت ان توقع في الأضواء وقال لاري coryell ولكن لم يذكر اميلي. I was outraged, & went directly to the manager & told him that Emily Remler was one of the greatest jazz guitarists in the world. كنت بالغضب ، و ذهب مباشرة الى مدير & قال له ان اميلي remler هو واحد من اعظم عازفو القيثاره الجاز في العالم. When I went to the concert that night, I was pleased to see he name in lights with his; equal billing. عندما ذهبت الى الحفله تلك الليلة ، وكان من دواعي سروري ان نرى انه فى الاضواء مع اسم بلده والمساواة في الفواتير. Before the concert started, I was called to the manager’s office, & told my seat would be changed. قبل الحفله بدأت ، وأنا ودعا الى مدير مكتب & ل مقعد بلدي وسيتم تغيير. I was seated right in front, directly down from where Emily was playing in an old T-shirt & jeans. كنت جالسا امام الحق ، بصورة مباشرة حيث انخفضت من ايميلي الذي يلعبه في قديم قميص و جينز. At intermission, she motioned me to the door that led backstage; she had two guitars & a practice amp there. في الاستراحه ، وقالت انها لي ان اشير الى الباب التي ادت الكواليس ؛ وقالت انها اثنين القيثارات & الممارسه امبير هناك. After she hugged me & thanked me for what I did, she asked me if I played guitar. وقالت انها بعد & معانق لي وشكر لي لماذا فعلت ، وطلبت مني اذا لعبت قيثارة. I said “yes” & we played together for about 20 minutes. قلت "نعم" و لعبنا معا لحوالى 20 دقيقة. I gave her my address & phone#, & we kept in touch until her tragic death in Australia. انا واعطتها عنواني & الهاتف ، و ظللنا على اتصال حتى الوفاه الماساويه لها في استراليا. During that time, she would send me all her CDs & instructional videos. وخلال ذلك الوقت ، وقالت انها سوف ترسل لي جميع بلدها & تعليميه واشرطه الفيديو واسطوانات مدمجه. We would talk on the phone, exchange letters, etc. I was absolutely devastated when I learned of her death in Sydney. ونحن نتحدث على الهاتف ، وتبادل الرسائل ، وما كنت دمرت تماما عندما علمت من وفاتها في سيدني. I still listen to her CDs all the time, & will remember her lovingly until the day I die. وما زلت الاستماع الى الاقراص المدمجه لها في كل وقت ، و سوف تذكر لها بموده حتى يوم يموت الاول. One can only imagine what she would have accomplished if she were still alive. لا يسع المرء إلا أن يتخيل ما قالت انها اذا كانت قد انجزت ما زالوا على قيد الحياة. She was not only a great artist, but a terrific human being as well. وقالت انها ليس فقط الفنان العظيم ، ولكن انسان رائع ايضا.

   I was a personal friend of Emily’s, I met her when she came to Pittsburgh to handle some personal issues. كنت صديقا شخصيا للاميلي لل، التقيت بها وهي جاءت لبيتسبرغ في معالجة بعض القضايا الشخصيه. She figured Pittsburgh was far enough away from New York to be able to relax.We became friends right away, being that I am a musician also. وقالت انها كانت ترد بيتسبرغ بما فيه الكفايه بعيدا عن نيويورك ان تكون قادرة على relax.we اصبح الاصدقاء على الفور ، هو ان أنا موسيقي ايضا.
   She had already hooked up with the Duquesne thing. وقالت انها سبق ان hooked حتى مع دوكوسن شيء.
   After that, I played several gigs with her. وبعد ذلك ، لعبت العديد من العربات معها. One was on New Years Eve at Club “Toots Suite” where she was treated like royalty, like she deserved. وكان على واحدة جديدة عشية سنوات في نادي "تصافير الجناح" حيث كانت تعامل معاملة الملوك ، وقالت انها تستحق مثل. We also played at a few more small venues and I remember her arguing with the drummer who announced “St. ونحن ايضا دورا في عدد قليل من اكثر الاماكن الصغيرة واتذكر لها بحجه مع الطبال من واعلنت "سانت Thomas” as an island and Emily said it was a penninsula and wouldn’t play until he agreed. توماس "الجزيرة اميلي وقال انه من شبه جزيرة ولن يلعب حتى وافقت.
   I had the opportunity to go to Phile with her to Pat Martino’s house and also met her when she was here with David Benoit. وقد أتيحت لي الفرصة للذهاب الى phile بات معها الى منزل ومارتينو كما التقى بها وهي هنا مع ديفيد بينوا.
   I knew she was in trouble, but felt safe with David’s group. كنت أعرف أنها في مأزق ، ولكنه يرى أمنا مع الفريق ديفيد. When she told me she was going to Sydney alone, I begged her not to. عندما قالت لي انها كانت متجهه الى سيدني وحدها ، وانني توسلت ليست لها. as did several others, but she insisted. كما فعلت عدة دول اخرى ، ولكنها أصرت.
   The rest is history. اما الباقي فهو تاريخ. I miss her and still think of her and this website is a Godsend! وانا نفتقدها لا يزال يفكر في بلدها وهذا الموقع هو godsend!

   I remember Emily sitting in her dorm room (our first year at Berklee) with her guitar in hand playing to the music of the commercials that came on while she watched the little tv in her room. أتذكر اميلي يجلس في غرفة مسكن لها (ونحن في السنة الاولى berklee) معها من ناحية اللعب على الجيتار في الموسيقى لمن الاعلانات التجارية التي جاءت على حين انها وشاهد التليفزيون قليلا في غرفتها.
