John Horne

Recently I’ve had reason to pause and reflect on the scope and substance of AllThingsEmily, what it has meant to me personally, all the incredible people I’ve met along the way, those who have been part of the site, given, shared and enjoyed. But absolutely none of it would have been possible without Mr. John Horne.

If you ever wondered how I got to know Emily, where the ability for all those transcriptions came from, even website design 101, he’s the reason.

Give some love to your own important influences today, The Music Teacher, those who work the trenches and impart all the beauty and magic of music, who go the extra mile for their students, paying everything forward, keeping us enriched, enabled and enthused.

So that we can turn around and do it for you.

I celebrate all Music Teachers today, being especially mindful of my own.

Have a listen to his masterful walking bassline rendering of Wes Montgomery’s Sundown
the song that started it all.

Sample him further Here. His arrangement of Linus and Lucy (from the ever popular Peanuts series) is the best fingerstyle solo guitar piece of it’s kind.

Threads of Thought
